It took me a whole month to write my last one, which is funny because it only took another two months to write the whole book!

The thing about an outline is that as you get ideas, you have to go back to revise things, so it slows you down.

I think one thing that really helped me was having a brainstorming buddy. I kept sending my ideas to my friend Alice, and she'd give me feedback and suggestions. It's so much easier to make changes when things are in the outline stage. If you have a critique partner you might consider that option. It makes things a lot more fun, too, especially when you get to talk to someone else about your characters as if they're real people.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1746050382328975047.post-25661922839450607992008-12-05T15:09:00.000-05:002008-12-05T15:09:00.000-05:00Great goals everyone! I think that's terrific!

Right now I'm researching and querying, so I don't have a WC goal. I do set a list of goals each day for things I want to accomplish writing-wise, though, so it does help to keep me on track and makes me feel like I accomplished something. Yay for goals!Angela Ackermanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01808259088625142389noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1746050382328975047.post-90218251446066031582008-12-04T15:12:00.000-05:002008-12-04T15:12:00.000-05:00Good luck on the outline! I wrote a query letter (which I'm counting) and added several scenes to my NaNo. It's up several thousand words, but I cut quite a few, so I believe I did make my goal.

Goal for next week: Revise 5 chapters of MS. Write 10 pages of my review of lit (for my thesis).Jill Wheelerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15059527254551768150noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1746050382328975047.post-63516807585622913172008-12-04T14:11:00.000-05:002008-12-04T14:11:00.000-05:00have you heard about jannowrimo - i may do that o...have you heard about jannowrimo - i may do that one - mych easier after the holidays. And apparently other sites have similar events throughout the year. I might try JulNoWriMo! But still, I need to get back on the writing bus. No W/C goals for last week but I'd like to get 5K between now and next Wednesday. I have bridal showers, Christmas parties, and holiday shopping in my path but I figure with some clever planning I can do it! I really wanted to be done with this novel by Feb. and I think it's still possible.

Way to go on the WC! Good luck with the outline! I think pages and pages would tire me out but I knwo you can do it. :)Stephanie Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17097106257851318283noreply@blogger.com
