I'm a little sad that summer is over, but I have a lot of good things going on this fall, including producing a play for a friend who's the executive director of a library, helping organize and participating in a Michigan SCBWI critique carousel (You can find out more info here if you're interested.), and going on a trip with my daughter and her boyfriend to see my late husband's family.

I’ve got a lot of exciting newly releases MG and YA book choices this month to help you get through this month.

Here are your choices:

If you haven't found a book you want, you can win a $10 Amazon Gift Card.

  35. I'm with you on not being able to pen a romance. Tried. Failed. As to the mystery...nothing scares me more than the unseen watcher. That grabs my attention and won't let me go until I find out who's out there.

  38. Fascinated by the idea of writing horror about the things that scare you. Maybe I've been wrong, but I really don't want to dive deeper into my fears and make them even more real.

So horror and romance... two genres I don't really care to write. Like you, I don't want to write the intimate/sexual scenes that are required.
