Today I'm excited to give away an ARC of THE 5th WAVE by Rick Yancy. It's a dystopian/sci-fi that I've heard really good things about. It's on my TBR list instead of my read list so I can't tell you what I think about it. But I want to read it.

Here's a description from Goodreads:

The Passage meets Ender’s Game in an epic new series from award-winning author Rick Yancey.

After the 1st wave, only darkness remains. After the 2nd, only the lucky escape. And after the 3rd, only the unlucky survive. After the 4th wave, only one rule applies: trust no one.

Now, it’s the dawn of the 5th wave, and on a lonely stretch of highway, Cassie runs from Them. The beings who only look human, who roam the countryside killing anyone they see. Who have scattered Earth’s last survivors. To stay alone is to stay alive, Cassie believes, until she meets Evan Walker. Beguiling and mysterious, Evan Walker may be Cassie’s only hope for rescuing her brother—or even saving herself. But Cassie must choose: between trust and despair, between defiance and surrender, between life and death. To give up or to get up.

Doesn't it sound fantastic?

And one lucky winner will win one of these books.

The following Monday I’m interviewing Liesl Shurtliff and giving away a copy of RUMP: THE TRUE STORY OF RUMPLESTILTSKIN. This is a fantastic retelling of this fairytale with a really fresh spin on it.

Wednesday that week I’m excited to interview one of our followers Lisa Gail Green about her debut novel, DJINN: THE BINDING STONE, a YA paranormal story I can’t wait to read. There will be a giveaway too.

And don't forget our Tuesday Tips and Casey's Thursday agent spotlights.

Hope to see you on Monday!

This one sounds super suspenseful! I wish Rick was coming to Colorado (Rick, if you're reading this, you need to get out West!).

Ooh, I like the sound of that!

I agree with Jess (except come to the North East too). Massachusetts is lovely this time of year (and every time of year, except for winter, before winter, and after winter).

Dystopian! I love it! And I really enjoyed that trailer. Very enticing :-)

This looks super cool. I love dystopian books, and Rick Yancey is awesome.

Cindy R. Wilson said...

You're right, that book does sound good! Dystopian sounds like such a hard genre to write, but the books I've read lately in that genre have been done really well.

Thanks for the giveaway! I love dystopias.

Ok so you had me at Ender's Game... lol. Anything that is remotely similar I will have to read! Ender is my all-time favorite and I got a chance to interview Mr.Card when I was in high school (cue giddy squeals now). We'd just finished E.G. in my sci-fi lit class and I truly think that was the game changer for me. I've been writing and wanting to publish ever since :-)

Looking forward to reading this - and a mention appeared on my blog. Thanks!

Unknown said...

Wow - I am so glad I found your blog - first a Taken giveaway, and now The 5th Wave? And a schedule of his appearances, including one only 2 hours from me? Authors never ever come anywhere within hours of me! Anyway, I would LOVE to win this book. Besides Taken, this was my other most anticipated book of 2013 and I can't WAIT to read it. Thanks so much for the opportunity!!!
